Transportation Supervisor

As a Transportation Supervisor at IDEXX, you will provide support for IDEXX Customer Service, Sales, Lab Operations and Transportation Teams.  In this role, you will monitor Transportation Vendor performance and provide troubleshooting and communication support. Performs a variety of duties involving critical thinking, analysis, evaluation and judgment in support of department activities. In this role: 

You will oversee transportation routes in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana but not limited to these statesYou will manage third party vendor relationships, monitor activities and evaluate respective performance, and resolve escalated issues from internal and external clients You will plan and organize work, ensure adequate resources, and maintain work on Transportation’s and other related department’s schedules You will maintain updated relevant client and route information as well as data integrity, utilization, and maximization of TMS, VCR, or any applicable systems You will create and implement informed, business-supported route changes You will implement the Transportation department's strategy and communicate a coherent vision for the department You will help identify and may be asked to lead opportunities for department change and improvement You will possess a commitment and desire for career growth  You will communicate with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed You will maintain accountability for department billing and corrections, providing management with cost information and cost saving recommendations  Adheres to and models the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles

What you'll need to succeed: 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, goal-oriented, and a strong collaborator.  It is important to have strong computer and technical skills, with an aptitude for learning. You will be a master problem solver with fine attention to detail.  Superb communication and listening skills are a must to be successful.Final-mile, transportation experience preferred but not requiredStrong data analysis skills. Intermediate proficiency or better with MS Excel highly preferredYou have a positive attitude and love to bring this energy to your position daily to support your colleagues, whether working independently or as a team contributor You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced work environment  You value working at the highest levels of accuracy, safety, and quality  You are able to prioritize and multi-task, demonstrate excellent attention to detail on the job, and can work reliably and precisely You are comfortable with receiving constructive feedback and coaching opportunities necessary for career advancementYou have familiarity and comfort with using computers, and can multi-task between forms of technology and different computer programs (I.e., phone, software, Microsoft Office, TMS, Intergis VCR, etc.)Your customer service skills are top-notch You have outstanding and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills A High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  A 2- or 4-year degree is preferred  You strive to fulfill IDEXX's customer promise every day  

Schedule: 

This is a virtual, full time (40 hr/wk.), position with a Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm schedule. Please note that the bulk of our transportation activities occur overnight and on weekends, so there may be times when there is the need to take customer escalation calls at nights or on weekends The shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position
