Job Description

The Transportation Supervisor oversees a team of drivers [Class A and B] delivering to Domino’s Pizza stores. The supervisor is also responsible for scheduling drivers, routing trucks, reviewing trip sheets for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, state and local laws, and company policies and programs. Effectively and efficiently handle customer complaints and concerns. Train new drivers in job duties safely and complete Job Safety Observations (JSO).  The supervisor must be comfortable working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Leadership:

Recruit, interview, select, and mentor new and tenured driversSupport driver engagement initiativesMonitor driver's performance and hold them accountable when performance is below expectations, using coaching and/or progressive discipline as neededComplete driver’s annual performance reviewsReview driver’s lytx and logs and coach according to company   Collaborate in driver onboarding and trainingEnsure safe work environment in compliance with FMCSA, OSHA, company standards, local, state, and federal requirementsEffectively communicate day-to-day with drivers, departments, and vendorsCreate a positive environment, morale, and respect among team membersAttend and participate in classroom or virtual Leadership & Development trainingCoordinate safety/team/quarterly meetings

Reporting/Budget:

Prepare and assist with Transportation generated reportsMonitor budget and fuel cards to ensure funds are maximizedParticipate in the development of budgets

Routing, Scheduling, Hours of Service, and Maintenance:

Weekly schedule driver routes and re-routing as necessary to ensure route coverageConduct route analysis and recommend saving opportunities to the ManagerMonitor driver hours of service via the onboard systemConduct route observations to ensure Drivers are safely performing their duties as required by company and DOT standards (The number of observations per period is determined by the number of drivers at the SCC)Maintain and monitor food safety standards in compliance with company and franchisee requirementsPerform payroll duties when necessary and review driver payroll for accuracyMonitor misdeliveries, and make recommendations to the Manager on avoidance strategiesMaintain driver qualification fileSchedule truck maintenance and maintain fleet imageConduct accident investigationsCoordinate deliveries and backhaul activities  Assist the Transportation Manager with truck leasing meetings to ensure PMs are met to Domino’s standard and repairs are completed in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipAs needed, if qualified, drive a company vehicle or straight truck for deliveries or to the leasing company for service/maintenance, and on occasion, work the yard

QualificationsHigh School Diploma, some college hours, 2-year degree preferred2-3 years of documented supervisory experience2-3 years of route scheduling experienceKnowledge of Department of Transportation, FMSCA rules and regulationsMS Office, SAP, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), computers, and scanner equipment/softwareWillingness to support a 24-hour operation, including carrying an emergency cell phone as neededResults-oriented with strong organizational, decision making and people skillsSuccessfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary dateCommercial Driver’s License Class A, a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, climb stairs, and lift to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. on occasionAbility to bend, twist, reach, push, and pull throughout the shiftAbility to work in extreme temperatures (non-airconditioned warehouse), both indoors and outdoors, including refrigerated conditions [33-38]Ability to work in environment with exposure to loud machineryMust be able to work around yeast and flour
