Transportation/Warehouse Clerk
**Description** Transportation Clerk | Monday- Friday | 7am Start time The Transportation Clerk will provide administrative support to the transportation department including filing freight claims, reviewing DOT logs for compliance, negotiating freight rates and assisting in the warehouse as needed. We seek to recruit and retain the right people who are passionate about our business and we provide opportunities for our employees so that they may progress within our company based on their talents, experiences, and their aptitude. **_Responsibilities:_** + Constant communication with drivers to ensure on time deliveries/pick-ups and customer satisfaction + Coordinate the routes daily based on customer needs + Review LTL and UPS costs daily for cost effectiveness based on customer needs + File freight claims with the applicable carrier + Using the AS400, negotiate freight rates for better service and cost effectiveness + Review driver logs, hours of service, trip reports, driver reports, etc for DOT/FMCSR compliance + Assist with warehouse responsibilities as required **_Requirements:_** + High School/GED education required + Detailed knowledge of local, state and federal DOT/FMCSR rules required + Minimum of 2 years of transportation administration/clerk experience required, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment + Ability to peform clerical and administrative duties with speed and accuracy under limited supervision + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) + AS400/iSeries experience preferred, particularly inventory/receiving functions + Self-starter with the ability to multi-task projects + Ability to answer a heavy volume of phone calls from both internal and external customers + Must be a detail-orientated problem solver + Experience with an Automatic On-Board Recording Device preferred (AOBRDS such as XATA and OmniTRACS) + Previous commercial driver experience a plus **So, what are you waiting for?
