Transporter II
Departmental Overview Provides non clinical support to all nursing units, ancillary areas, and administrative areas. This support includes but not limited to internal and/or external transportation of patients, distribution of patient supplies and equipment, performs courier type functions and assist with the distribution of mail. Job Summary Transport patients from one area of the hospital to another and distributes supplies and equipment. Transport adult and geriatric patients to and from outpatient clinic. Provide basic supervision to patients and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Perform tasks to support the delivery of care by actively participating as an interdisciplinary care team member. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to communicate in English (verbal/written) Experience Prefer a minimum of six (6) months experience in patient transport. Must have experience operating a computer. Requires general computer skills capable of utilizing health system's software programs. Licensure/Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru retraining for duration of employment. Valid OK driver's license. A minimum of two years of driving experience required. Compensation/Benefits $12.70-$20.75/hr depending on previous work experience.
