Trauma Coordinator - PRN
Job Description

The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a cost-effective system of care for trauma patients and their families throughout the continuum of care. The Trauma Program Coordinator works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma program medical director and other members of the health care team and the management staff. The Trauma Program Coordinator is self-directed and self-motivating, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the director of nursing. Provides specialized nursing knowledge and expertise as a clinician, educator, researcher and consultant to nursing staff, patients and their families.

Education:

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (RN)

Experience:

Preferred: Three (3) years of clinical / acute care experience.

Preferred: Experience in trauma, emergency and/or critical care

Preferred: Two (2) years leadership experience

Preferred: Experience in coordination, education and clinical program development

Licenses/Certificates:

Require: 

• Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after one (1) full month of work.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full months of work.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full month of work.
• Current TNCC (Trauma Core Nursing Curriculum - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after two (2) full months of work.
