Trauma Program Manager

Job Details TRAUMA PROGRAM MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES: Works collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director to oversee services and systems necessary for the multidisciplinary approach to the care of all trauma patients from scene to discharge and in the development of policies and procedures. This individual functions as the leader in maintaining and continuously enhancing applications and repositories for the Trauma Program. This includes the Trauma One application for the NYSDOH, National Trauma Database, and American College of Surgery Trauma Quality Improvement Program registries. This individual will take responsibility for ensuring the continued smooth functioning on these applications and databases, reporting, and all data submissions as requested by departmental and hospital leadership. Assume day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities as they relate to nursing and ancillary personnel involved in the care of trauma patients. Oversee, develop, and directs the trauma service program, including operations, budgets, development and implementation of operational practices, and coordination and promotion of related activities Partner with the TMD to develop and implement policies, procedures, and the development of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines. Ensure program meets the standards and guidelines set forth by the American College of Surgeons – Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT). Prepare operating, capital, and payroll budgets. Hire, train, direct, evaluate, and discipline program support staff. Provide educational opportunities for staff development. Monitor performance improvement activities in conjunction with the PI Nurse Manager. Serve as a liaison to administration and represent the trauma program on hospital and regional committees to enhance trauma care. Oversight of the trauma registry. Carry out education, as well as disciplinary actions, where applicable with HR and the AVP. Ensure compliance with maintaining proper registries and timely data submittal. Accountable for data presentation at meetings. Review cases pertinent to M&M/peer review issues, system issues, and other categories as outlined by the ACS (transfers, deaths, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in trauma (emergency department/critical care) and leadership experience. Master’s Degree in a healthcare related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare field with extensive administrative and trauma experience may be considered. Provide evidence of 36 hours of trauma-related continuing education (CE) during the trauma verification cycle (3 years). Hold current membership in a national or regional trauma organization. Salary Range USD $125,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
