Scheduling:
Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm w/ possible later days when needed. The clinician will report to Public Defender Freedom Defense office in Roseland Community 11433 S Michigan Ave 4 days a week and 1 day a week will come to Advocate office 9730 S. Western Ave.
Major Responsibilities:
Provides crisis intervention, brief therapeutic interventions triage, resource development and disposition recommendations for Trauma Recovery Center clients. Provides direct specialized care with clients who have been identified as needing psychological assessment or interventions. 1)Serves as resource coordinator and advocates for proper psychiatric, medical, and/or substance abuse treatment by involving family, significant others, school, EAP’s, social services, employers, half-way houses, managed care companies, etc. Represents the Trauma Recovery Center as a liaison with community resources to procure services that ensure the aftercare management of the client and family. 2)Care may be provided in a variety of setting, including but not limited to: Trauma Recovery Center clinic, hospital setting, medical visits, patient home, community centers, court advocacy. 3)Provides a warm hand-off when patient is moved to another agency or level of care. 4)Provides coverage to maintain services as needed; including meeting patient outside of the Trauma Recovery Center including but not limited to court, appointments, or their home. 5)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives. 6)Provides group therapy and individual therapeutic interventions to facilitate development of insight, interpersonal skills, coping abilities and information in the use of support systems and resources. 7)Communicates with other members of the healthcare team in order to obtain information needed to complete an individualized care plan for the client. 8)Monitors clients condition in order to prevent client from harming themselves or others; works collaboratively with licensed clinicians to provide appropriate therapeutic intervention.Record keeping: Completes various clinical and administrative forms. Assure accurate data collection for scheduling, the management information system, and other purposes in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. 1)Documents client contacts according to established clinical protocols. Maintains concise comprehensive case records by following established organizational policies and procedures. 2)Compile statistics on patients in regards to services rendered. 3)Protects the security and confidentiality of information in the medical record.Trainee oversight: Works collaboratively with licensed clinician to direct trainees on approaches to patient needs or suggests alternative approaches for resolution of problems 1)Ensures timely and accurate completion of forms, case recording and reports provided by the trainees; reviews and provides reports as required. 2)Assesses compliance with clinical and administrative policies and procedures. 3)Provides orientation and training to trainees; provides productive feedback to trainees both orally and in writing. 4)Monitors charting, adherence with accreditation, certification, licensure and other regulatory guidance, and other compliance responsibilities impact quality of care issues. 5)Fosters an environment where trainees will advance to further levels of competency.Organizational and Training Activities: Actively participates in organizational performance improvement, utilization review and incident debriefing activities in ways that make a positive contribution to organizational operations. 1)Demonstrates constructive involvement with Trauma Recovery Center staff and family members. Develops and maintains professional relationships with legal and victims' services, human services and entitlement agencies, health services vendors and private organizations, to enhance service delivery and organizational image. 2)Participates in quality assurance, accreditation, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and other special projects. 3)Attends department staff meetings, inservices, and trainings. 4)Identifies professional goals and enhances job-related skills through staff development activities. 5)Participates in self-care groups.
