Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Trauma Registrar in Wausau, WI to work in our Trauma Program.

The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the trauma registry database which drives an efficient and effective performance improvement program for the care of the injured patient. Trauma registry data is used for performance improvement, medical research, statistical analysis, care coordination, epidemiology and injury prevention. The registrar works in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager/Trauma Coordinator, Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Nurse, and other trauma team members using the trauma database to support process improvement activities throughout the trauma continuum. The registrar maintains the quality of the database according to department policies and actively participates in the preparation for American College of Surgeons verification surveys.

Hours: Full time 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree or higher in a related healthcare professional program with knowledge of standards of care for trauma patients. Working knowledge of ICD 10 coding and AIS coding preferred. Previous trauma experience preferred.Previous applicable experience beneficial.Evidence of advanced computer skills: database maintenance, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, flowcharting, reporting and relational database programs.Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently demonstrating dedication, high productivity, and self-management in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.Occasional travel may be required for meetings or accreditation visits.
