Travel Cardiovascular Short Stay RN – Newburgh, Indiana – Days or Nights
$2,758 wk./36 hrs.
CANDIDATES MUST BE EXPERIENCED IN PRE/POST CATH LAB/EP PROCEDURES, PACU RECOVERY, CARDIAC SURGERY ADMISSIONS
40 MILE RADIUS RULE – NO LOCAL CANDIDATES
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36
Primary Location: Deaconess Gateway Hospital – Newburgh, IN
Shift: 12hr Days (6P-6:30A) CST or Days
Float Requirements: will float to MT CVSS Deaconess Midtown Hospital – Evansville, IN as needed
On Call/Call Back Requirements: N/A
Weekends/Holidays: every other weekend/holiday
Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: IN Single State RN License, AHA BLS & ACLS
Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience in specialty
NO NEW TRAVELERS – 1 completed travel assignment required
Charting Experience Required: EPIC/CUPID
Required Skillset: Start IV’s, radial artery sheath removal, TR bands, arterial line management, manage/titrate cardiac drips, telemetry interpretation, 12-lead EKG.
Patient Population: Admissions/Cardiac procedure recovery, Pre/Post Cath Lab/EP Lab procedures, PACU recovery, cardiac surgery admissions, TAVR/LAAO recoveries, antiarrhythmics, Cardiac observation patients, bedside experience
Unit Information: 33 beds. Pre/Post procedure Cath Lab, Surgery admissions, Observation patients
3:1 patient ratio (Day Shift)
4-5:1 patient ratio (Night Shift)
Uniform info: red scrub top, black scrub bottoms
Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required — Subject to change
GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
The RN (Cath Lab or Cardiac Cath Lab) specializes in workingwith patients undergoing cardiac procedures in a catheterization lab. During cardiac catheterizations, thesespecially trained nurses assist the medical team by monitoring the patient’svitals, assisting with procedural sedatives, assisting doctors, technicians,nurses and the patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers patient medications Assists in diagnostic procedures and interventionalprocedures Circulates and scrub during cardiac catheterization andelectrophysiology procedures Responsible for discharge teaching with patients and familiesincluding procedural, medications, activities, care of the surgical site andlifestyle/dietary changes Ensures consent paperwork is accurately completed Performs examination of the patient pre andpost-catheterization Manages administrative aspects of cardiac catheterizationand electrophysiology patients Monitors and documents patient vital signs Monitors for signs and symptoms of infections or sideeffects of the procedure Monitors patient sedation levels during and after theprocedure Prepares patients for proceduresMinimum Requirements:
