Travel RN – Ortho Surgical Med Surg – Nights – Newburgh, IN **AUTO OFFER** NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Gross Weekly Pay – $3,318 wk./48 hrs. OR $2,506 wk./36 hrs.  Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 1/13 – Bi-weekly orientation  Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30p-7a CST Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Campuses are 8 miles apart & potential to float to campus 11 miles away. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.  On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule.  Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: Combination of medical and surgical patients, no cardiac heavy. Confusion/BH/CIWA, CHF, COPD, UTI, cellulitis, sepsis, amputations, decubitis ulcers, general surgeries. Skillset: IV fluid/antibiotic therapies, strong medical/post-surgical assessment, heparin gtts., wounds/wound vacs, basic tele. Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): 32 beds, increasing to 37 January 2025. Unit Strengths: New leadership brought in to lead unit, amazing teamwork, and experienced charge nurses. GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process andthe delivery of patient care. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability inthe coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and isaccountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Responsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.  Performs focused interview to identify specific patients needs.  Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.  Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actualand/or potential nursing diagnoses.  Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, andselected nursing interventions.  Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements.  Monitors consistency between patient plan of care and actions of medical staff.  Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patientcare outcome standard.  Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.  Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.  Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, andeffective/ineffective nursing interventions.  Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions.  Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floorincluding establishing priorities.  Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.  Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the chosen facility. Supports professional practice by observing the following:  Uses knowledge and practices in accordancewith 1) the Nurse Practice Act; 2) Standards of Nursing Practice; 3) Standards of Patient Care; 4) TheJoint Commission, state and local laws; 5) Patient’s Bill of Rights; and 6) Amergis Healthcare Staffing, nursing andclient hospital policies.  Other duties as assigned.
