The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. **Salary Range** $21.00 - $27.00 **Target Openings** 1 **What Is the Opportunity?** The Travelers Institute was established in 2009 as a means of participating in the public policy dialogue on matters of interest to the property casualty insurance sector, as well as the financial services industry more broadly. The Travelers Institute draws upon the industry expertise of Travelers' senior management and the technical expertise of its risk professionals and other experts to provide information, analysis and recommendations to public policymakers and regulators. The Travelers Institute is hiring an intern to assist with several public policy initiatives and related content development, including projects on distracted driving, autonomous vehicles, small business advocacy, cybersecurity and disaster preparedness. As a part of these initiatives, the Travelers Institute hosts numerous events, both online and in-person, across the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will assist with the development of educational content, including videos, webinars, white papers, social media and print and web copy as well as the planning and execution of events for Travelers leadership, policymakers, journalists, educators, business owners and others. As such, strong writing and editing skills are highly desired for this role. In addition, the successful candidate will learn how the private sector engages and informs the public policy dialogue, gain exposure to a range of public policy issues, the development of public-private partnerships, and strategies for communications and outreach, among other areas. This position will likely be in person in our Hartford, CT offices based on company guidance throughout the course of the internship.
