Traveling Civil Technician

This opportunity is for the client's Transportation and Public Works teams, which serve SDDOT County and City clients throughout SD. The teams are comprised of folks in their Sioux Falls and Pierre, SD offices. They are a full-service, multi-disciplinary team performing award-winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.

This individual will be responsible for:

Managed SDDot, county, and city transportation construction projects.

Conduct professional meetings including pre-construction, public information, and weekly construction meetings.

Perform civil engineering calculations; prepare engineering plans, designs & reports, and construction oversight including inspection when needed.

Serve as a liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors.

Deliver project documents within prescribed budgetary and time constraints while satisfying client requirements.

Develop and enhance client relationships and business growth.

Please prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers and technical support staff.

Assist with functional and detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects when in the office.

Contract administration of municipal projects.

About this individual:

You might have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Civil Engineering. You might not. What we need is someone with the experience to lead self-directed work independently, with minimal supervision. We want you to build the team around you by sharing your knowledge and experience with others. We want someone who is highly sought after by our clients to administer their construction projects. A strong track record of recent past projects with good references speaks volumes.

This is primarily a fieldwork position. Travel to job sites will be required, therefore, a valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary. This position is remote, working in South Dakota. Proximity to many future project sites is a benefit to you, us, and our partners. Our construction vehicles are mobile offices. Even while in the field, construction administrators have access to technology and experts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $38.00
