Job Description
This opportunity is for the Transportation and Public Works teams who serve County, and City clients throughout South Dakota. They are comprised of professionals in their Sioux Falls and other South Dakota offices, providing a full-service, multi-disciplinary approach to planning, design, survey, and construction.
ResponsibilitiesManage WisDOT, County, and City transportation construction projects.Conduct professional meetings including pre-construction, public information, and weekly construction meetings.Perform civil engineering calculations; prepare engineering plans, designs, reports, and provide construction oversight including inspection when needed.Serve as a liaison with clients, government, and regulatory authorities, and contractors.Deliver project documents within prescribed budgetary and time constraints while satisfying client requirements.Develop and enhance client relationships and business growth.Prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery.Provide technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers and technical support staff.Assist with functional and detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects when in the office.Administer contracts for municipal projects.Essential SkillsStrong public infrastructure construction administration experience.Proficiency in WisDOT construction and design standards.Knowledge of local, state, and federal government project delivery processes.Ability to lead self-directed work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.Experience in managing transportation construction projects.Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.Valid driver's license with a good driving record.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Civil 3D.Ability to design staging and maintenance of traffic with designers and review plans for constructability.SD DOT experience is advantageous.Adaptability and willingness to take on tasks outside of comfort zones.Work Environment
This is primarily a field-work position with travel to job sites required. The position is remote, working in Northwest Wisconsin, with proximity to project sites being beneficial. Our construction vehicles serve as mobile offices, providing access to technology and experts even in the field. The role involves working both in the office and remotely. The company values its construction staff year-round and does not hire with the intention of laying off during off-season periods.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $38.00
