ABOUT THE ROLE  

\n

As a  Traveling Mechanic - Millwright  here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in assisting the rebuild of Honeywell's line sorters. Working closely with the team guide, you will be accountable for removing, replacing, and cleaning hardware on various Honeywell line sorter types.

\n

Your expertise will contribute to the inventory management, staging, and movement of hardware throughout a distribution center to facilitate the rebuild process. Additionally, you will ensure a professional installation appearance through cleanup efforts.

\n

You will be required to work mostly  weekends  within a constrained timeline, where success is measured by completing the rebuild within customer-provided downtime windows. You will report directly to our team guide and you will reside in any of the lower 48 states in the US.  Your time off work will usually fall on mid-week.  

\n

Key Responsibilities  

\n\nPerform mechanical rebuilds of Honeywell Intelligrated line sortation equipment\nCarry out mechanical modifications and parts replacement on industrial machinery\nManually move hardware and tools to and from the job site\nAssist with inventory management and staging of hardware\nResearch, read, and analyze existing equipment documentation, including layout drawings, plan views, and electrical schematics\nCoordinate with subcontractors, vendors, the implementation team, and other subject matter experts\nMechanically remove and install hardware as directed\nFacilitate the cleaning of customer equipment involved in the rebuild\nEnsure the work area is clean and presents a professional appearance\nPrioritize safety in all job-related efforts\nTravel 90% of the time, primarily during weekends.\nComplete travel related bookings via Concur and submit expense reports in a timely manner  \n\n

COMPENSATION OVERVIEW  

\n

The annual base salary range for this position is $54,000-$70,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.  

YOU MUST HAVE  

\n\n3+ years of mechanical technician/millwright experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nValid Driver’s license  \n\n

WE VALUE  

\n\nAssociates, Bachelor's, or other advanced degree\nPrevious industry experience, specifically with line sortation equipment\nProficiency with common metal fabrication tools (drills, saws, grinders)\nStrong mechanical/millwright skillset\nElectrical experience is a plus\nPrevious installation experience\nAbility to work long hours in a physically demanding role\nAbility to work independently and have a strong work ethic\nBasic insight of blueprints and schematics  \n\n

Physical Requirements  

\n\nThe ability to climb up and over conveyor.\nThe ability to climb ladders.\nThe ability to lift 35 pounds individually and 50 pounds as a two-person team.\nThe ability to carry required tools and tool bag (10-15lbs) regularly for extended periods and distances.\nThe ability to spend long periods of time standing and / or walking on concrete and other surfaces.\nThe ability to work above your head for extended period of time while standing, laying, or seated (e.g., 30mins). The ability to lift weights listed above your head.\nThe ability to move safely in confined spaces which may require crawling on hands and knees.  \n\n
