Gilbane is seeking a Traveling Senior General Superintendent II to be responsible for the overall field work on one of the company’s most sizable projects, leading a large team of superintendents and ensuring that company policies and procedures are met in regard to safety, scheduling, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

Responsibilities Direct and coordinate Gilbane’s trade contractors and their sub-contractors, when required, to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project scheduleSupervise the construction of a large project or multiple projectsSupervise and develop the project teamManage the project budget for general conditions and site servicesDevelop, document and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the fieldMaintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to coordinate trades, plan ahead and anticipate potential problems before they ariseObtain or verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposesMonitor safety performance and verify safety compliance with all trades; actas primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policiesConduct maintenance and planning of “work-arounds,” shutdowns and tie-insLead contractor meetings, oversee daily reports and document using Procore on a regular basisCommunicate schedule status, updates and changes to Project Team>and Trade>ContractorsCoordinate and manage jobsite logisticsOversee project quality plan>and implement>necessary changes.Resolve jurisdictional disputesEstablish credibility among Owners, trade contractors, unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management15+ years of experience on $100+ million commercial/industrial construction project or multiple projects in a superintendent rolePreferred experience with Advanced Electronics or Mission Critical and Data Center projectsOr equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needsMust possess the ability to participate in sales process, interviews and presentations.Ability to work in a team environmentProficient in Microsoft Office, ProcoreConstruction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of constructionExperience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost controlStrong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety planAbility to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitudeExperience supervising a project teamKnowledge of labor relationsOSHA 30 hour certified

For Reno, Nevada this ranges from $157,300.00-$216,300.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Glastonbury, CT; Providence, RI; and Baltimore, MD this ranges from $165,100.00-$227,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Sacramento, CA this ranges from $173,000.00-$237,900.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Boston, MA this ranges from $184,000.00-$253,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Irvine, CA; Concord, CA and Los Angeles, CA this ranges from $191,900.00-$263,900.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For New York City, NY and San Jose, CA this ranges from $201,300.00-$276,800.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
