Traveling Superintendent
Job Title: Utility Superintendent/Floater
Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Utility Superintendent/Floater to join our team. This individual will be responsible for traveling to various job sites in need of additional support to help get the project back on track. The position requires heavy travel, with stays at job sites ranging from 2-8 weeks. The role involves managing project scopes that can range from mechanical/electrical heavy to mission-critical tasks. Most projects are located in the western half of the country, but some are in the southeast. Per diem and mileage will be compensated, with a guarantee of 40 hours per week.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop a schedule and cost-effective plan for the completion of assigned projects.Collaborate with staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.Coordinate and schedule work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating instructions and project assignments via project forepersons.Regularly inspect work for quality and timeliness; prepare and provide progress reports to owners and architects; recommend necessary modifications.Collaborate with architects, engineers, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.Ensure specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.Obtain required permits and licenses; execute construction contracts according to terms of the agreement.Monitor the budget throughout the project and communicate variances as they occur.Maintain records related to costs and inventory.Address any safety violations or other deficiencies.Collaborate with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsConstruction experienceProcore or other construction management software experienceSubcontractor managementMechanical system or electrical construction experience ($1-$30 million)5+ years of superintendent experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 10 certificationWork Environment

This position involves heavy travel to various job sites, primarily in the western half of the country with some projects in the southeast. The individual will be required to stay at job sites for durations ranging from 2-8 weeks. The work environment includes managing mechanical and electrical projects, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Per diem is approximately $170/day or the standard per diem rate, and mileage will be compensated. The role guarantees 40 hours of work each week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00
