Description We are offering a contract-to-permanent opportunity for a Treasury Accountant position in Chesapeake. The Treasury Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks in a local hospital environment. This role involves a high degree of interaction with other departments, necessitating excellent interpersonal skills. The Treasury Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization through regular account management and reconciliation. Responsibilities: • Handling bank reconciliations for multiple entities associated with the hospital • Posting all cash transactions to the General Ledger • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions • Processing adjustment entries or reclassifications as needed • Utilizing Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft for various accounting tasks • Handling month-end close processes for treasury efficiently • Performing regular journal entries • Ensuring all financial data is compliant with regulatory standards • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Treasury Accountant role or similar. • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations is mandatory. • Must possess a strong understanding and capability in managing the general ledger. • Experience in preparing and posting journal entries is required. • Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close procedures is essential. • Proficiency in using PeopleSoft financial software is expected. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required. • Previous experience in treasury operations or similar is necessary.
