Treasury Analyst

As a Treasury Analyst, you will be responsible for daily corporate liquidity management activities, including cash forecasting, foreign exchange trade execution. Provides corporate and branch support for liquidity management issues. Will support Treasury Manager by assisting in the implementation and follow through of new initiatives.

What you’ll do:

Determine daily liquidity needs for corporation:

Maintain near and medium term liquidity forecast inputting all known or estimated cashflows to ensure accuracy

Set daily cash position, minimizing idle balances while ensuring sufficient liquidity

Make daily AR and ABL borrowing recommendation for Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer’s approval and ensure timely approval of time sensitive borrowing requests

Reconcile forecasted to actual transactions for total company cash payments and wire transfers

On a daily basis monitor bank account activity and execute daily transfers for funds

Complete reports of cash activity in United Rentals Corporate accounts including updates to various Excel models and Kyriba (treasury workstation) utilized by various departments

Work with accounting, cash reconciliation team and various other departments to ensure treasury initiated cash transactions are properly booked in the TWS and Lawson ledger system

Collect, review and process wire requests:

Monitor wires mailbox and respond to all inquiries timely, engaging business partners

Initiate domestic and international wires ensuring timely processing, following cutoff times, and incorporating into daily cash position

Process all critical payments a day in advance of due date, including debt principal, interest expense, dividend, share repurchase, payroll, and tax payments

Ensure adequate wire payment supporting documentation is received including proper authorization and approvals

Monitor payment status of wires to ensure funds are released/received

Troubleshoot any payment issues with the bank, Accounting and/or our IT support team

Prepare month-end general ledger upload:

Work closely with accounting to code activity for the general ledger

Input and maintain cash activity and debt balances in the Treasury Workstation

Research unknown items to the concentration account working with the Cash Reconciliation and Accounting teams to resolve if needed

Banking and Treasury system security and user administration:

Ensure timely setup and deactivation of users for online banking portals and Treasury systems

Adhere to all approval matrix and SOX controls

Execute, settle and track foreign exchange trades:

Execute FX trades

Correspond with counterparty back office to confirm trades and settlement instructions, work with banks to resolve any issues

Monitor trades and ensure timely execution by counterparty

Provide all necessary supporting documentation to Accounting and other departments

Bank account administration:

Open & close bank accounts, adhering to all banking resolution mandates

Update signatory and other account information as necessary

Perform annual Foreign Bank Account Reporting (FBAR)

Maintain bank account database

Other duties as assigned:

Understand and adhere to all SOX, policies and procedures, updating and maintain all documentation to keep them current

Support overall departmental projects to help drive Treasury and company objectives

Perform ad hoc analysis as needed

Including cost of debt analysis, WACC analysis, bank fee wallet analysis, monitoring peer and bank credit ratings, etc.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field

0-2 years related experience

Strong excel and analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Team-oriented and the ability to work across cross-functional teams

Exceptional time management skills, ability to multitask and high attention to detail

Uphold high ethical standards and transparency and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Able to manage small scale projects and push to completion

A desire to learn about Treasury and Finance

Work onsite at the Stamford Corporate office 3 days/week minimum
