In order to continue to build novel and powerful products for our users at scale, our own treasury capabilities, including financial risk management capabilities, must be excellent.

What you’ll do

The Capital and Financial Risk Management team sets Stripe’s financial risk strategy and develops analytical tools to promote risk-aware allocation of our resources ensuring that Stripe has sufficient capital and liquidity to support our users in all operating conditions. Within CFRM, Capital and Liquidity Risk Management also works closely with Stripe leadership, data science, and other finance teams to shape our understanding of how Stripe is performing as a business and how best to align our capital allocation strategy with our growth and profitability ambitions. We are looking for someone to join us to work alongside our business partners and our world-class engineers.

Responsibilities  Collaborate with Treasury Capital Management and Data Science teams to continue streamlining and optimizing current methodologies and processes that drive capital and liquidity analytics Take the lead in preparing Stripe’s capital and liquidity plans, executive presentation materials, board documents, and related analyses Design and execute stress testing and other scenario-driven analysis to inform capital and liquidity planning efforts Maintain Liquidity, Funding and Equity Policies and related procedures, and support regional and entity-specific capital planning processes Refine and enhance core Stripe financial risk metrics along with relevant internal reporting/visibility Work with T-FIN leads, engineering and data science teams to iterate towards Stripe’s target state data architecture and modeling framework for capital planning and capital attribution Build and maintain tools to evaluate capital allocation decisions  Build deep, trusted partnerships with cross-functional teams across Stripe to shape capital- and liquidity-efficient decision-making at the budget, product, go to market, and user levels Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements 8+ years of experience in one or more of: Treasury, capital and/or liquidity management, stress testing, accounting and capital planning, or financial services-focused investment banking  Strong familiarity with bank capital and liquidity regulatory regimes and related accounting practices Working knowledge of core accounting principles relevant to capital and liquidity management A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships and lead cross-functional efforts with diverse stakeholders including finance, data science, engineering, risk and product teams Experience navigating large, complex data environments and participating in the development of related modeling/tooling overlays An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” and “get things done” mentality The ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environment An inclination to solve problems systematically via infrastructure and automation. A builder's mindset with a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred qualifications Technical experience with Excel/Google Sheets and SQL is a strong plus
