Newtown Savings Bank is seeking an experienced Treasury Management sales professional for the role of Treasury Management Officer. The Treasury Management Officer (TMO) is responsible for developing and managing their own portfolio of relationships focused on deposits, as well as directly supporting the division's most complicated clients who use cash management services. The TMO creates a tailored proposal based on customer needs and current financial structure using in-depth knowledge of banking products and sales abilities. The TMO is tasked with assisting Business Relationship Bankers, Commercial/Small Business Lenders, Customer Experience Managers, and eServices/Cash Management Operations in expanding their knowledge and expertise with deposit and cash management products. This is done by participating in customer meetings, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining positive relationships with current clients, identifying cross-selling opportunities, providing subject-matter expertise, and training to all retail business customer facing sales staff.
The TMO will also work closely with Digital Solutions to help enhance or identify new TM products for the Bank to ensure competitiveness in product offerings within our market footprint. This includes staying current on product pricing trends and competitor products. The TMO will also partner with Marketing to develop strategy and prospecting campaigns to increase TM sales. The TMO is also responsible for collaborating with the Banks’s Merchant Services provider and the Credit Card Product Manager to help identify prospects and include them in prospect meetings.
This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. This role has remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Drives business deposit growth and TM product sales through the selection and packaging of TM services to prospective and existing business customers.
+ Participates in outbound prospect sales visits with Commercial/Small Business Lending and Business Relationship Bankers. Obtains and reviews client prospect statements to identify products and solutions for TM services. Includes Merchant Services representative and Credit Card Product Manager in prospect meetings when applicable.
+ Manages and assists with all TM sales activities including promoting sales inside and outside the branch. Develops and implements product-specific marketing initiatives with Marketing. This includes developing and promoting sales contests within the Bank.
+ Initiates follow up calls to TM business prospects. This includes existing business customers who do not currently have TM services by utilizing business customers DDA transactions / relationships to mine data for identifying possible follow up leads.
+ Is the Bank’s TM SME (Subject Matter Expert) for products and services.
+ Visits branches on a regular basis to promote TM services by hosting or engaging in branch meetings. Ensures branches have updated TM materials displayed.
+ Ensures all business sales customer facing new hires are trained on TM products and that training materials stay up to date in NSB BVS systems. Provide training as necessary.
+ Works closely with Digital Solutions to help enhance or identify new TM products for the Bank and assists with new product introduction/launches.
+ Supports eServices/Cash Management Operations by obtaining TM master and servicing agreements that require credit approval.
+ Serves as the customer relationship manager for TM customers and assists with training customers on utilization of TM products and services.
+ Works with risk management, compliance, and assists with annual TM customer risk reviews.
+ Expected to be out of the office at least 80% of the time by networking, establishing new relationships, expanding on existing relationships in our market. The primary focus is growing business deposits and selling TM products.
+ Meet or exceed all budgeted sales targets on a quarterly or annual basis.
+ Performs annual TM relationship reviews (services, volumes, and profitability).
+ Assist in developing long and short-term sales strategies to grow TM customer deposits.
+ Support the Bank’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values.
+ Provide prompt and courteous service to all external and internal customers. Resolve TM customer complaints. Use courteous telephone etiquette when answering, transferring, and calling customers. Overall, your service delivery, should always translate into a positive customer experience.
+ Meet with Retail Sales Manager - To discuss sales performance.
+ Maintain current knowledge of competitor products, services, and costs to ensure competitiveness in the Banks market footprint.
+ Develop and maintain meaningful TM Key Performance Indicators.
+ Participate regularly in business networking events and community service activities. Represent the Bank as a member for at least one community group. Promote the Bank and the Bank’s services.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor’s degree or above, or equivalent experience.
+ 3-5 years of Treasury Management sales experience.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively, dealing with internal and external customers, as well as current department, in person, on the telephone or in writing. Strong customer service skills required. Must be able to speak one on one, or in small groups. Proficient in routine letters and customer correspondence.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out functions furnished in written form or oral form. Ability to perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to multi-task as well as to perform repetitive work according to set procedures and meet deadlines. Ability to perform well under pressure.
+ Be task oriented, organized and work well in team environment. Must have the ability to listen well and follow instructions, as well as to receive guidance and supervision, and follow work rules and procedures.
+ May be required to work weekends and / or extended hours for PR/Networking events. Regular reliable attendance is critical.
