** Work Arrangement/Location: This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work three days/week. It can be based in the Bridgeport, CT or in Amherst, NY (Commerce Drive). Overview:

Provides advanced analytical and operational support to the Bank’s Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Derivatives and Fixed Income Portfolio Desks. 

Primary Responsibilities:Completes medium complexity data entry and trade entry updates (documented/procedures) over range of disciplines.Complete medium level of analysis and judgment based work over a range of disciplines within the department.Complete medium complexity documentation for system input with quality control and validation and moderate customer service requestsObtain and review documentation prior to submitting to management the details necessary for departmental audits.   May take part of interdepartmental projects.Respond to more complex requests involving research in multiple systems; complete adjustments and reconciliation. Work with Senior Management to define and outline escalation criteria.Utilize internal procedures across the department without collaboration to complete task.Validate and reconcile various trade related details to include validating, reporting and customer confirmations.Assist with cross-training and ensure basic understanding of tasks are correctly outlined.Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position works in one of the following areas of Treasury Operations: Fixed Income Operations, Derivatives Operations, Foreign Exchange Operations, Treasury Administration and Portfolio Analytics.

Education and Experience Required:Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a relevant fieldBasic to intermediate proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet, word processing and email softwareProven analytical skillsProven time management skillsComfortable and proven ability with communicating verbally and in writing with various level of personnelDetail-oriented

Education and Experience Preferred:

Associates degree PLUS two to three years of experience working in an accounting or finance related role OR a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Fixed income experience is ideal.Experience in collateral deposits for government entities.Experience with Paragon and/or Calypso is ideal. Proven ability to be part of a working project and interject the necessary expertise to help guide results.Basic experience with derivatives, investment or foreign exchange operations, analytics or reporting.
