Treasury Shared Service Unclaimed Property Intern

Where You’ll Work:

This Internship will be working with the Corporate Treasury Unclaimed Property Department where you will be able to work cross-functionally to research and resolve issues while paying strong attention to detail. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your department and across the business – and learn from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus. 

What You’ll Do:

Assist with unclaimed property reporting and maintenance of files

Assist with due diligence processes related to unclaimed property filings, including telephone responses/customer service

Assist with processing check reissues

Assist with daily bank administration tasks, including research and cleared check copies

Assist in gathering required information and answering Information Document Requests for various audits

Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be progressing toward a bachelor's degree and have completed at least 3 or more years in a preferred major and/or minors including Finance, Accounting, and Business or related

3.0 GPA or higher is preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel

Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a heavy workload

Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information

Proficiency in problem solving and analytical thinking

Excellent verbal/written communication skills, as well as strong customer service skills.

Strong business aptitude and teamwork skills; ability to work cross functionally

Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills  

Additional Information:

Location: Hybrid in Bloomfield, CT. A hybrid position means that you will be expected to work in-person at your assigned office location 3 days a week (T, W, TH) with flexibility to work at home for balance of time. The internship is paid, and housing assistance is not offered.  Geographical preference will be given to CT applicants near the Hartford area. 

Schedule: ​Start Date: February 2025 with the ability to work minimum of 3 days/24 hours a week while in school, 40 hours a week in the summer

Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $24/hr depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location

Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM, etc., now or in the future.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
