Trim Saw Operator

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Trim Saw Operator to be located in Somerset, KY. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Trim Saw Operator is responsible for loading the Trim Saw consistently to reach the proper width and length of veneer, ensuring squareness.

JOB DUTIES:

Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury. Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations. Participate in Continuous Improvement and provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects. Do daily PMs and all other safety checks. Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Keep area cleaned and organized. Load plywood into the Saw. Maximize yield and productivity. Look for ways to reduce downtime. Check length, width, and squareness of plywood throughout the shift. Be able to change over and build arbors. Be able to cut new bed plates. Set-up and adjust the chip breakers on the #2 Rip Saw. Watch the camera monitors for overlaps and jam-ups on the line. Communicate with the Puttiers when there is a species change. Blow out saws at the end of every shift and sweep up. Communicate problems and concerns with other shift operator, lead, and supervisor. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening. Positive and Verifiable Work History.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequently push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50lbs. Continuous walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements Frequently talk, hear, read, write and comprehend the English language Frequently work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Frequently work near moving mechanical parts. Must be able to work in constant, moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
