Job Summary: The Trip Editor, working under the Finance Manager's supervision, is responsible for accurately and promptly entering data from driver manifests into the company's system. This role focuses on inputting critical information, especially mileage, and submitting daily reports for financial accuracy. The position is vital for maintaining data integrity, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to operational efficiency in the transportation company. The Trip Editor must have strong attention to detail, meet deadlines, and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of trip data. Essential Duties: Meticulously track and organize manifests from all service providers, including Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) Systematically arrange manifests in order according to route, ensuring efficient processing Calculate trip mileage using manifest data and verify distances between locations using Google Maps or similar tools for enhanced accuracy Input precise departure and arrival times from manifests as required Vigilantly identify any missing manifests and promptly notify management via detailed email reports Develop expertise in recognizing illogical odometer readings that may indicate errors or discrepancies Carefully arrange trips in chronological order to maintain logical sequence and aid in analysis Compile, format, and print comprehensive daily reports for management review and decision-making Implement an organized filing system for manifests, ensuring quick retrieval when needed Establish and maintain a robust document storage system, with clear labeling and categorization Proficiently navigate the Trapeze system, keeping up-to-date with daily manifest entries and updates Conduct thorough checks to ensure manifests are completed correctly, including accurate coversheets, bus numbers, and route names that match Trapeze system entries Develop and apply a discerning eye for subtle errors or inconsistencies that automated systems might miss Assist in reconciling trip data with financial records as needed Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business or finance preferred Familiarity with radio procedures and proficiency in operating two-way communication systems Comprehensive knowledge of local city geography and locations of major buildings, landmarks, and frequent destinations Demonstrated excellent attendance record, commitment to safety protocols, and superior customer service skills Strong ability to interact professionally and patiently with the public, especially in high-stress or challenging situations In-depth understanding of extra board operations and driver assignment procedures in a transit environment Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic mathematical skills for mileage calculations and simple data analysis Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for report generation Ability to quickly learn and adapt to specialized software like Trapeze Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and correspondence About Transdev: Transdev is the largest private sector operator of multiple modes of passenger transit in North America, providing bus, rail, paratransit and shuttle services.
