Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager (QCM) with extensive experience in federal construction to oversee and document the quality control program on field projects. The successful candidate will identify, analyze, and develop improvements in productivity, client relationships, and customer service as they relate to the quality management system.
ResponsibilitiesPromote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the projectOversee the implementation of project-specific construction Quality Plans at job locationsPerform project site audits to ensure adherence to company SOPs/policies, project plans and specifications, and confirm as-built drawing completionsLead quality investigations on project issues as they arise at construction projectsDocument construction quality control through the project and maintain reporting requirements including photo documentation and written reportsGather and maintain Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) submittals for applicable projectsLead communications on customer concerns regarding construction quality and coordinate appropriate adjustments with applicable Construction and Management teamsPrepare and conduct preparatory and initial meetingsGather and submit required material submittals after comparison to plans and specifications, and maintain submittal registryCheck material and equipment received against approved submittals, plans, and specificationsReceive daily reports, including reports from sub-contractors, from Site Superintendent and/or SSHO for inclusion into daily reportSubmit Daily QC report to client and distribute internally to project teamDocument work progress on site and quality control issues via job notes, photos, and meeting minutesMaintain QC Deficiency log and issue deficiency notificationsMaintain red-line or as-builts on project siteGenerate RFIs in conjunction with Project ManagerGenerate and disperse Government inspections and sign-offsMaintain daily reports in binder for Client personnelMaintain testing log, schedule third-party testing, and collect, submit and maintain all reportsGenerate and maintain punch lists for sub-contractors on site, monitor completions, and collect signed punch list completion sheetsDevelop, schedule, and conduct owner training as necessaryGather, prepare, and submit O&M dataPerform other duties as assignedEssential SkillsMinimum of five (5) years of federal construction and/or quality control experienceFamiliarity with federal construction processesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsActive OSHA 30-hour certificationActive Construction Quality Management (CQM) certificateDemonstrable Quality Control Management experienceFamiliarity with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 requirementsExperience in hazard identification and safety complianceFive years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, or SSHOExperience on similar size projects and the type of construction contracts which include the major trades that are part of this contractExperience with ECMS (NAVFAC software) is a plusFive years of QC experience within the last seven yearsExperience working as a Federal Superintendent/SSHOFive years of DOD construction experience within the last seven yearsLocal to Kings Bay, GA is idealWork Environment
The QCM/Triple Hat will be responsible for providing oversight on a demolition project at Whiting Field in Milton, FL. This asbestos removal project is estimated to last 12 months. The company anticipates having more projects for this consultant to stay on. The company pays for lodging, provides per diem for meals and incidentals at the GSA rate based on location, and reimburses mileage at the federal rate during travel. The candidate will drive their own vehicle. No medical or PPE certification is required.
