We’re looking for a Troubleshooting Scientist who is team player and rigorous to join our Characterization and Materials Sciences department, based in our office in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the Role
In this role, you will support pharmaceutical manufacturing and development projects, both chemical and biological. Your primary responsibilities will include performing various analyses, developing analytical methods, and ensuring the quality of the results to inform investigations / development activities.
What You’ll Do:
Perform analyses to support pharmaceutical manufacturing and development projects, including chemical and biological entities.Conduct investigations and development activities.Develop and perform analytical methods such as optical microscopy, electron microscopy, elemental analysis, Infrared/Raman spectroscopy, spectro colorimetry, and laser diffraction.Prepare samples, including isolating foreign particle material.Analyze results critically and ensure consistency with the context and available data.Interpret data in the context of Materials Science, understanding the connections between material structure, properties, processing methods, and performance.Document activities in electronic lab notebooks and sample management systems.Contribute to writing technical documents like reports, user guides, and guidelines.Read documents and write reports in English.Help create a material reference database.Perform equipment calibrations and verifications according to procedures and reference documents, ensuring instruments function properly.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in (bio-)chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field.Minimum of 2-3 years of laboratory experience, particularly in the analytical domain (Pharmaceutical background is a plus).Proficiency in microscopy (optical and electronic) and spectroscopy.Strong team player with excellent communication skills.Compliant and rigorous, with a solid understanding of the importance of following procedures.Meticulous, patient, and flexible, able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
