Job Title: Truck Driver

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, the Truck driver safely transports equipment to and from customer job sites, assists in loading and unloading bundles off trucks.  Once bundles are cleaned, they are prepped for shipment and loaded on truck for delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain current up to date Class A CDL, as well as TWIC identifications. Transport Equipment safely to and from customer’s sites. Maintain Trucks and Trailers in exceptional working order. Makes daily inspections to ensure vehicles are always serviceable. Load and unload Heat Exchanger Equipment from trucks. Ensure loads are properly secured for safe transport. Maintains acceptable driving record. Records and maintains an accurate log of miles driven daily. Performs minor maintenance on equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on Truck and Trailers. Assists in preparing finished product for shipment and photos of loaded equipment. Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices. Performs internal quality control of Transportation procedures. Aid crane operator by visual and vocal signals when parts are being moved. Follow Safe Work Practices. Maintain a Safe Work Environment. Must always be aware of equipment MSDS and products being handled, ensure proper PPE is always used. Maintain a clean hazard free workplace. Performs production work when necessary.

Additional responsibilities of the Truck Driver role include:

Reporting all vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations and damage to equipment, perform daily inspection, to include maintenance and minor repairs, to ensure vehicles are serviceable at all times Driving truck through weigh stations before and after loading as well as along routes to document weights and to stay in compliance with state regulations Checking equipment to ensure that all mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order

Qualifications:

Valid Commercial Driver’s License, H.S. diploma or equivalent, knowledge of fabrication shop practices, prior 18-wheeler (stick shift) experience required Skills- Read and write English language, maintain acceptable license for truck use

 

Working Conditions- Cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, requires a 50 lb. lifting ability, must be able to bend, lift, push/pull, climb, squat, crawl, and reach overhead, exposed to normal shop hazards.
