Class A Truck Driver Job Description

Primary Duties

These primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

Transport bedding components to and from customers and warehouse in a safe and timely manner Assist in unloading of product and merchandise (unload to the end of the trailer in some locations) Inspect all products for damage or discrepancies Perform daily truck and trailer inspections Meet all DOT and company policy requirements Driver must be willing and able to drive in the NY and NJ areas Able to follow instruction as given Report any problems relating to the product or process involved while performing duties

Qualifications

 

Must be a least 22 years of age or older Must have at least 1 year verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience for long distance, local and yard positions Ability to work overtime when required Have and maintain a Class A Commercial  license No alcohol convictions with in previous 10 years and no more than 1 offence in a lifetime No misdemeanors in the past 5 years, excluding moving violations or citations Submit to pre-employment DOT drug screen including random and or reasonable cause testing and DOT physical Effective problem resolution and the use of logic

Details

 

Flat-rate per trip, driver’s average $1200-$1700/week Drivers are paid by the trip they select each day (trip selection is based off seniority) Home nightly and on the weekend’s Depart between 4-5 a.m. on Monday through Friday and return each afternoon Equipment parked at the Branch Loading/Unloading Pay:  (unload to the end of the trailer in some locations) Area runs – PA and surrounding states:  Brooklyn, NY, NJ, and Washington DC
