Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00

Schedule: Swing Shift on a 2-2-3 rotation

 

Description

 

The Truck Driver will be required to inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. The ability to work with others to be productive is essential to the success of this position, the company, and all team members. All team members in the entire organization are to treat each other in the same manner that they would expect to be treated themselves.

 

Essential Duties

 

Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance. Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math. Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment. Working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principles Drive truck to established destination. Inspect truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. Assist workers in loading and unloading trucks. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations. Read and accurately interpret company documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and federal and state regulations. Communicate professionally and effectively. Respond promptly to any accident, incident, or emergency call. Operate, maintain, and repair vehicles. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance. Help, mentor, and train personnel. Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.  Ability to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions. Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance. Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned. Flexibility required, ability to workdays, nights, weekends.

 

Job Requirements

 

High school diploma or equivalent Good Driving Record Must be 18 years or older. 1 or more year(s) related experience


Physical Demands

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to see well enough to do paperwork and operate heavy equipment. Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others within the company 100% of the time. Must be able to reach with arms and hands to perform inspection, maintenance and repair duties when needed. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat 100%. Must be able to use hands to grasp, handle, and feel 100%. Must be able to climb and balance well enough to mount equipment by climbing up and down steps as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.


Work Environment

 

While performing the duties of this job the operator is regularly exposed to a high noise level; moving mechanical parts, moving machinery, outside weather conditions and elements; fumes from gasoline, oil and grease. The team member may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
