Triumph Foods also holds a 50 percent partnership in Seaboard Triumph Foods, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa, a primary pork processing plant.\n

Position Overview & Responsibilities:\n

The position of Maintenance Technician has immediate responsibility for the service, maintenance and upkeep of Company Commercial Fleet Vehicles and Equipment. This position must maintain complete timely and accurate records on all maintenance performed. \n

Major Areas of Accountability:\n\nDiagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure of a motor vehicle or related equipment. \nTroubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts and systems on the truck-tractor, or the component parts and systems of a cargo tank (feed) semi-trailers. \nInspect, repair, and perform routine maintenance on Company vehicle fleet, including component parts. \nMake proper use of both power and hand tools to repair or replace defective components of Company fleet and other equipment. \nWhen applicable, use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete vehicle repairs. \nPrepare and maintain maintenance records in accordance with Company policies, and state and federal regulations. \nAbility to write, read and speak English. \nMake entries on reports and record entries on maintenance records to ensure compliance with regulations. \nRead reports, technical manuals, and other documents to keep abreast of changes in Company fleet, including all component parts. \nConverse with co-workers and properly communicate with others. \nProvide a safe work environment for co-workers at all times. \nAssure that the cargo tank entry procedures are followed at all times.\nTest drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly\nMust be able to follow diagnostic trouble charts, hydraulic schematics, use standard automotive tools, electronic diagnostic equipment, hydraulic pressure gauges, and flow meters.\nUses various cutting and welding equipment.\nInput data into fleet tracking software is critical.\nMechanics must utilize a computer to input work orders, time and related computer tasks.\nPerform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.\nMaintain stock shop supply inventories, placing orders and verifying receipt of orders.\nPerform other duties as required or designated by supervisor. \n\n

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:\n\nEducation: High school diploma required, some college preferred.\n3 or more years of vehicle maintenance knowledge required which could include time in trade school for entry-level applicants.\nComputer skills for the input of data into the fleet maintenance tracking database.\nWelding experience is preferred.\nThe employee must have experience with Heavy Duty commercial vehicles.\nCandidate must possess a DOT-certification or have the willingness to obtain DOT certification upon hire in order to perform commercial DOT inspections of equipment.\nClass A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) required. Candidates without a CDL may apply but must demonstrate a willingness to obtain a CDL if offered the position. CDL training assistance would be provided.\n\n
