Pay

$24.43-$40.77 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus $1.00 / hr. shift premium for 3rd shift hours

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Truck Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. Job responsibility include repairs and maintains heavy duty trucks, trailers, yard tractors, cars, pickups, vans and the truck garage and equipment

Required Qualifications

6-12 months experience in a garage environment or vocational schoolCapable of reading schematics, wiring diagrams, blue prints, etc.Good perception, judgment and decision making skillsGood oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environmentAbility to document and process informationMust have tools to support general Class 8 truck and trailer repairsCapable of performing tire and wheel break-down, build up, balancing and alignmentKnowledgeable in performing diagnostic checks on electrical systemsAble to diagnose fuel and lubrication system problems and make repairsCapable of performing repairs and adjustments on tractor, trailer ABS and air brake systems, differentials, clutches, drive line, suspensions, transmissions and steeringExperience in performing trailer repairsAbility to perform heavy lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basisMust have or be able to obtain McKee Foods LTO (Lift Truck Operator) license within 90 days on the job (includes a good driving record and meeting vision requirements to drive a lift truck at McKee Foods)Must have or be able to obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Duty certifications based on the pay level at the time of hire as prescribed in the technician’s syllabus. The required certification must be obtained within one year of the hire dateMust have EPA approved air conditioning certification or obtain within 30 days on the jobMust be able to work overtime, or other shifts when necessaryWilling to travel for training, and other process improvement event

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of experience performing heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance or equivalent education with a Diploma in Diesel and Truck Technology from an accredited Technical SchoolGeneral computer knowledge and skillsCertified WelderA Class A CDL may be required based on business needs
