Position OverviewThe Synthetic Training Environment (STE) Training Management Tool (TMT) is shaping the future of the Army’s training solutions. Cole Engineering Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to lead training of this dynamic, collective, distributed simulation-based training system. This position requires a strong understanding of military operations, command systems, and training methodologies. An outgoing and confident personality that seeks to
cultivate a positive image for the TMT through training and program representation is desired.
This position will have primary responsibility for leading training classes on new and bourgeoning training capabilities for Brigade, Division, and Corp level army training solutions. Training events range from briefings and demonstrations for command staffs and VIPs to detailed hands-on Soldier training at regularly occurring Soldier touchpoint events. When not preparing for and performing training, candidate will work with training development team to support creation of embedded learning products for the advanced distributed learning (ADL) system embedded in the TMT software. Position is highly collaborative but also requires someone who is comfortable working with autonomy to own training approaches and solutions.
Responsibilities Collaborate with customers, development teams, and systems engineers to fully understand system requirements and implementation of software and hardware. Assist in developing customized training plans tailored to current system capabilities, future upgrades, and mission-specific needs. Coordinate with training developers for the creation of clear and concise training resources, including video tutorials and traditional manuals. Plan, conduct, and participate in exercise planning meetings to coordinate training and exercise support. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on military operations and doctrine during system development. Deliver instruction on TSS/TMT capabilities through field and classroom training environments. Conduct demonstrations for VIPs and potential customers. Conduct debriefings, hot washes, and After-Action Reviews (AARs) as required. Document and analyze feedback from training sessions, Soldier Touch Points (STP), and demos, recommending improvements to system functionality. Required Experience/Qualifications Proficiency with the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP). Proficiency with software applications and tools related to Mission Command Information Systems used in U.S. Army Battalion and higher-level command posts.Ten (10+) years of recent U.S. Army experience with service on staffs at the Battalion or higher level. Ten (10+) years of experience with U.S. Army planning process (MDMP) and training management.Familiarity with simulation software.Ability to lead training classes with 10+ trainees and confidently guide their learning.US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Military Studies, Education, Computer Science) preferred. Relevant military experience may be substituted.
