Position Description
The Tumor Registrar IV is responsible for obtaining, organizing, analyzing, and managing cancer data for use in various quality assessment projects, ongoing quality metrics, quality improvement initiative, and investigative studies. This individual will support quality initiatives of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) via workgroups, task forces, disease- specific Steering Committees, and Cancer Committee, and similar committees. The Tumor Registrar IV will work directly with oncology leadership, administrative personnel, physician practice staff, and providers to assess the feasibility of each study, resource requirements, study design, and, data collection and analysis. Tumor Registrar IV provides leadership to the department.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, or related discipline Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential and/or (formerly known as) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) Certification Three years’ experience in cancer registry field. Experience using computer database systems Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminologyPREFERRED
Experience using Microsoft Access and One Note Experience using statistics analysis software Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, or related discipline Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)Service Area Overview
