Job DescriptionPerform engineering and analysis for the design of tunnels and shafts in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock (initial support and final lining).Use various tunnel construction methods such as drill and blast, sequential excavation method (SEM), or TBM.Perform 3-D soil-structure interaction analysis, geotechnical analysis, and dynamic analysis using advanced finite element software.Prepare detailed calculations, design drawings, and specifications.Coordinate with Technical Leads, Project Directors, Project Managers, design team, BIM/CADD team, and moreUse tunnel analysis and design software such as PLAXIS 2D and 3D, FLAC/FLAC3D, and other foundation design software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering3+ years of experience with a mix of underground structure projectsExperience with Tunneling

Additional Qualifications for Sr. Geotechnical Engineer:

Tunnel Design experienceExperience with various tunneling methods such as drill and blast, Sequential Excavation Method (SEM), and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM)Proficiency with tunnel analysis and design software (PLAXIS 2D and 3D, FLAC/FLAC3D, and other foundation design software)Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in New York, New York and some days remote.
