The Turbine Controls SME will utilize their expertise gathered through hands on and detailed design work across multiple gas and steam turbine control platforms and balance of plant projects at electric power producing facilities. As a project team member, they will be responsible for the technical evaluation, upgrades, design, specifying, and troubleshooting of existing and proposed turbine controls and related systems. The SME will ensure project delivery and customer satisfaction through technical oversight and management of project related activities and resources. The SME will mentor engineers on a variety of I&C and Electrical Engineering principals.
ResponsibilitiesDue to continued growth, our EG Division is seeking a Turbine Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Mary, Tampa, Kennesaw, Birmingham, Chattanooga locations or possibly remote for the right candidate.
Provide technical direction and complex problem solving associated with the maintenance, trouble shooting, and upgrades of existing turbine equipment, power producing facilities, and infrastructurePrepare specifications, statements of work, and cost estimates for all types of turbine generators and related equipment and systemsAssist in the defining of customer requirements and needs and the conformity of the system to the contractual specificationsProvide engineering and design packages with the support of fellow engineers in accordance with client requirementsProvide technical documentation as requiredAct as internal technical point of contact for all things turbine controlsWork with multi-discipline engineers assigned to projectParticipate in project review meetings, project milestone meetingsCoordinate support of site activities with the Project Managers as neededPerform other duties as required not specifically related to turbine controls Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experienceProven work history designing, maintaining, specifying, or otherwise working with utility scale power producing facilities, specifically gas and steam turbine control systemsWorking efficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPointExcellent written and oral communication skills requiredExperience in gas and steam turbine control systemsExtensive knowledge of industry standard control system communication protocolsWilling to travel 25%-50% of the time which would include fieldwork; duration may vary depending on project and client needsPreferred Qualifications / Skills
Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseExperience with NERC CIP requirementsExperience in multiple turbine control systems across different manufacturers#LI-KM1
