JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Turn Buyer at Sonbyrne Sales Inc. d/b/a Byrne Dairy & Deli, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and replenishment of inventory in our warehouse. Purchases perishable grocery, non-perishable grocery, dairy, frozen food items, and paper products including cigarettes from assigned vendors to ensure proper stock levels in warehouse. Your role will involve closely monitoring inventory levels, analyzing demand patterns, and ensuring timely replenishment to meet customer needs. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders will contribute to the smooth operation of our warehouse.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. PROCUREMENT AND REPLINISHMENT:
· Collaborate with Purchasing Department, Category Managers and Warehouse Management to identify inventory needs, including stock levels, replenishment requirements, and special orders.
· Monitor inventory levels and sales data to identify low stock or potential shortages.
· Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer demand patterns to forecast inventory needs accurately.
· Place purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery.
· Coordinate with logistics and receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt of ordered products. Maintain effective communication channels internally with Purchasing Department, Category Managers, Accounting Department and externally with suppliers to resolve issues, address concerns, and optimize procurement processes.
2. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT & OPTIMIZATION:
· Monitor inventory levels and track stock movement to prevent shortages or overstocking. Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing excess stock and obsolete inventory.
· Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies with suppliers, warehouse personnel and accounting department.
3. DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:
· Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and related documentation. Generate reports on inventory levels and stock movement.
· Analyze data to identify trends, anticipate demand, and optimize purchasing decisions.
· Provide timely and accurate information to Purchasing and Warehouse management regarding inventory status, potential issues, and suggested improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
· Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
· Experience in warehouse procurement, purchasing, or inventory management is a plus.
· Familiarity with inventory management systems and software is a plus.
Estimated annual salary: $42,000-$52,000
