Description:Function
 Set up and operate any make or model turret lathe to perform established production and semi-complex lathe operations on diversified types and forms of material.
Typical Responsibilities
 Follow general Instructions, standard practices, complicated drawings, operation sheets, specifications and other oral or written instructions to set up and perform a variety of standard and established turret lathe operations.
 Use all prescribed and standard tools, fixtures and attachments to make setups.
 Adapt holding fixtures and other standard or special attachments in accordance with requirements.

 Lay out work applicable to operation requirements, maintain interrelated dimensions between faces, bores, stepped inside and outside diameters, depths and other routine machined features.

 Determine feeds and speed and select proper tools in accordance with job requirements.

 Perform step and straight boring, turning and recessing, multiple turning and boring, contour turning, drilling, facing, tapping, threading, die head and single point tool chasing and other ordinary turret lathe operations.

 Block, clamp and shim to hold and align work piece and prevent springing, distortion or breakage.

 Indicate work to required accuracy, diagnose and remedy normal machining difficulties, maintain quality standards.

 Check work visually and with precision measuring instruments and record data manually or electronically as required.

 Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level, including deburring, polishing and part marking.

 Refer unusual conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or supervision.

 Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.

 As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires ability to work from fairly complicated drawings and use shop mathematics and a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dept gauges, verniers, dial indicators, etc.

Also required well-rounded knowledge of machining methods, tools and cutting qualities of various metals.

2 to 3 years experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
