What will you be doing?

The Unified Communications Engineer will design and define system architecture for both new and existing unified communications systems. This role involves overseeing the entire system lifecycle, including design, modeling, security, integration, and testing. You will contribute to complex engineering projects, manage the deployment of collaboration tools, and ensure the efficient performance of communication systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and define architecture for unified communications systems, including both new implementations and upgrades to existing systems. Manage projects related to the deployment of new collaboration tools and telephony infrastructure. Oversee approximately 18,500 customer phones and ensure system reliability and performance. Provide Tier 2 and 3 technical support for voice operations and collaboration tools. Assess severity, prioritize tasks, and resolve support issues effectively. Oversee and manage systems including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco IM&Presence, Cisco Agent Desktop for Cisco Unified Contact Center, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), Cisco Jabber, and VoIP endpoint deployment. Address security, backup, and redundancy problems with complex solutions. Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to support system improvements. Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develop and execute detailed SOPs for Unified Communications Engineering. Conduct integration proof of concept testing as required to ensure system compatibility and performance. Provide weekly status reports to managers and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress and any issues. Collaborate with customer management and GDIT management to implement system changes. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively coordinate with various teams.
