**Job Title: UD Associate** **Job Description** Our company is a leading advanced material provider for the composite and protective markets, specializing in the manufacture of soft armor at our Charlotte site. In the weaver operator position, you will be responsible for making circuit looms, bombing the yarn, and ensuring the quality of the product from beginning to end. You will count picks and identify any defects or anomalies in the fabric as the machine will not work when there are defects, and flag down fixer apprentices in case of quality issues. You will primarily work on the air jet loom and Rapier loom, with opportunities to work in the carbon room for additional compensation and grow into other roles within the company. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating Uni-Directional (UD) textile machines to consistently meet quality and production targets. You will work as part of a self-directed team with some supervision. **Hard Skills** + Setting up weaver machines + Threading needles by hand + Inspecting products to ensure patterns are correct + Startup, operation, cleanup, and shutdown of UD machines + Staging material through barcoding and labels + Maintaining accurate inventories + Customizing basic equipment settings + Following precise test procedures + Planning and laying out work + Operating hoist and pallet jack + Using technology (ERP system/MS Office) + Entering production and quality data + Visually inspecting products + Identifying and troubleshooting equipment issues + Raising NCRs for non-conforming materials + Packaging and labeling finished products + Providing production reports + Practicing 5S and lean philosophies + Keeping equipment and work areas clean + Maintaining safety standards **Soft Skills** + Attention to detail + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities + Manual dexterity + Effective communication in English + Dependability + Team player + Willingness to cross-train + Desire to grow within the company + Commitment to safety + Ability to work overtime **Job Type** This is a contract position with a duration of 4 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina. **Work Environment** Manufacturing setting with moderate to high noise levels (personalized protective equipment provided). Continuous periods of standing and walking required. Considerable lifting and loading (with assistance of appropriate tools and machines).
