P&C IT Services provides professional services to help our business units and corporate functions use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes.  IT Services can include a wide range of activities such as: software development, data management, Cloud services, IT security, network security, technical support, establishing and overseeing access rights, procuring and maintaining equipment or software, managing the infrastructure, and defining security procedures,  The overall goal of IT Services is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.

Great American Insurance Group’s Property & Casualty IT Services division is seeking summer 2025 interns to join the Underwriter Desktop Lab team.  The interns selected will work together with other developers in the Underwriter Desktop Lab on a 12-week engagement beginning May 19th and ending August 8th.  The goal of the program is to provide an in-depth learning experience.  You will be exposed to and gain hands on project experience in a variety of areas including software development, testing, and business analysis. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and interested in a future career in technology.  Interns will also learn about our insurance business and products and could have the opportunity to present to IT leadership at the conclusion of the summer project.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated team player who excels in a collaborative work environment
• Strong organizational skills, able manage/prioritize work, and meet deadlines
• Basic understanding of C# and/or Java
• Available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship
• Participate in team planning activities
• Complete assigned tasks as directed in a timely manner using best practices and standards

Education:

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Computer or Information ScienceGraduating in 2028
