**The Army UH-60 /AH-64 Army** **Aircraft Avionics Mechanic (UH-60/AH-64 Avionics Mechanic) AM-1** adjusts, repairs and/or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft system avionics. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. + Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. + Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions. + Apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. + Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals. + Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair. + May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. + Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. + Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. + May be required to troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems to ensure aircraft remains in safe operating condition. + Performs other duties as requested. **Minimum Requirements** + High School Diploma or equivalent is required. + A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required. + Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years of Avionics experience on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS) **UH-60/AH-64 is Required.** + All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years. + Must possess knowledge of aircraft avionics systems, troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, and knowledge of avionics systems, including maintenance parameters, systems operations, limitations and technical orders. + Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory. Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus. + Mechanic Tools Required; must provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID on each tool. + Valid Driver’s License is required. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must be able to obtain and maintain a NAC-I (T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. **US Citizenship is required** for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility. **Preferred/Physical Qualifications** + Is required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position. + Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds. + Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds. + Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices. + Work is performed in Aircraft maintenance hangar that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work could be performed outside as well. + May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. + The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. + The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. + May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. + May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft. + Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus. **Washington: Compensation & Benefits:** HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,617.60 - $39.72 an Hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
