UI/UX Design Functional Manager

The UI/UX Design Functional Manager will utilize their product design skills, UX experience, knowledge of technologies and processes to create innovative product designs that will enhance the appearance and functionality of our new digital products. The individual will be responsible for leading the Digital Product team for the Industrial Design department and deliver top-tier user experiences across multiple vehicle platforms, focusing on seamless integration of software and hardware components. This role requires a strategic leader capable of fostering collaboration between UX designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure design excellence from concept to production. This position is a hybrid role base in our Lisle, Illinois headquarters and will report to the Chief Industrial Designer. Responsibilities Collaborate cross functionally with Engineering, Marketing and Product Platform Teams to develop new product design concepts that contribute to market growth and success. Oversees the creation and development of the look of digital products including overall theme, color, and visual graphics. Focus on both overall user experience, product appearance, and internal functionality. Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as: appearance, ergonomics, function, budget, production costs/methods and market characteristics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Lead and mentor a team Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 6 years of industrial design experience 3 years leadership experience OR Master's degree At least 5 years of industrial design experience 3 years leadership experience OR At least 10 years of industrial design experience 3 leadership management experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Degree (BA/BS/BFA) in Industrial Design, Transportation Design Major is preferred Proven track record of leading UI/UX teams and projects from concept to production. Extensive knowledge of human center design principles and practices. Proficient in using major UX design tools such as Figma and Adobe Suites. Familiar with 3D CAD software such as Alias and VRED or similar.
