PSS3 UI/UX Software Analyst

Are you a dedicated, adaptable, self-starter who enjoys designing software interfaces and
application user experiences? Rowan University is seeking an innovative UI/UX Analyst to join
our growing community.

In this position, you will work as a member of the Software Development department who
handles software development, ERP, integrations, cloud software, database administration, and
change management for the university. The team develops not only custom software solutions,
but also integrates with and enhances third-party solutions supporting the university’s software
ecosystem. You will partner and collaborate with these teams to create, design, build, and
document various user experiences and designs for applications across the university and our
medical schools. This is a crucial role on a collaborative team making a big difference in a broad
community.

General Responsibilities:

Create application designs and interfaces in alignment with Rowan branding standards Consult team responsible for first iterations of all custom software or enhancements to
existing software with the strong emphasis on the user experience. Work closely with
Solution Engineers, Initiative Managers, and Project Managers, to understand
requirements for applications and ensure applications are designed and experienced in
accordance with requirements Work closely with the development team and Software Architects to explain designs
created and how the application and design should function and behave from a user
experience perspective Conduct user research. Gather insights through interviews, surveys, usability testing,
and other methods to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Develop user flows and wireframes. Create visual representations of user journeys
and interaction patterns. Participate in usability testing and provide feedback to improve the user experience. Innovation. Stay abreast of current design trends, especially in higher education, and
assist Rowan in setting the standard for polished and modern user experiences across
the industry. Design and develop baseline application layouts and design libraries for the
development teams to utilize for custom software solutions, enhancements to existing
applications, as well as low-code platforms. Conduct surveys and studies to stay current with the needs of the Rowan clients.

Required Qualifications:

A 4-year degree in a technical field (i.e., Computer Science, MIS, etc.) or 4 years of
professional experience 2-years professional experience in higher education Experience in a higher education environment and designing software for both students as well as faculty/staff Proficient knowledge in and/or ability to learn application design tools (ex. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.) Familiarity with building designs within Low-Code Application Platforms, HTML and CSS, and programming frameworks and languages (i.e., C#, Django) Proven knowledge in application design principles and best practices Continuous and unquenchable desire to learn Demonstrated ability to set goals and achieve them Excellent verbal and written communication skills
