Job summary – What to expect: 

You’ll play a strategic role and be responsible for financial management, controls and reporting, as well as the development and execution of strategy for CooperVision Contact Lens Manufacturing Operations in the UK which manufactures over 1 billion lens per year. A focus on business partnering with the Managing Director of the UK Manufacturing site by delivering key metrics through strong leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 

Our UK Manufacturing site is world class in terms of its technology, diverse portfolio of products and is a 24/7 high volume manufacturing operation. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

To build highly effective relationships cross functionally within UK and Global Contact Lens Manufacturing. Be responsible for leading, coaching, engaging, and developing a team of financial professionals. Identify the drivers of the business to provide strategic direction and deliver against UK Manufacturing and Functional strategy. Help drive and embed a continuous improvement culture across both the finance and operations teams. Improving systems, processes and reporting where necessary. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly accounts, cash flow projections, standard costs, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and year end accounts. Work with site teams to investigate adverse operational variances and develop countermeasures. To provide on-site financial control to all aspects of the operation, providing day to day support and advice to staff and management on existing and future manufacturing internal control practices. To regularly audit SOX / Internal control processes to maintain compliance with CV’s internal control procedures and practice. To be responsible for monitoring, reporting and compliance of all financial aspects of a manufacturing operation, including cost of production, inventories, fixed assets, capital investments, reconciliation of production numbers, balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings To drive cost saving initiatives and provide financial advice in the development of manufacturing methods and products. Partner with the Global Sourcing Team on inbound raw materials by supporting contract negotiations and developing cost reduction strategies. To ensure proactive identification and escalation of potential issues to Financial and Operational management teams To partner with the broader CooperVision finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results in line with requirements for consolidation into the overall business results process. Experience in building strong business relationships, having mature leadership capabilities and possessing the skills of being a strategic leader will all be areas which will support the success of this individual.
