Position Purpose:
Performs ultrasonography procedures including vascular and general sonography for patients as ordered by the physician and provides diagnostic exams and communications for radiologist’s interpretation. What you will Do:
Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.
Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy.
Performs ultrasound procedure.
Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
Performs sonograms and documents and communicates findings to radiologist.
Performs doppler/color flow diagnostic studies and is able to accurately measure velocities and frequency shifts.
Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:
Birth-28 days: Neonate
1-18 Months: Infant
18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
12-18 Yrs: Adolescents
18-65 Yrs: Adults
65+ Yrs: Geriatrics
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time
Monday through Thursday 3rd shift
Hours 10:00pm to 6:30am.
Minimum Qualifications:
Radiology experience in addition to ultrasound experience preferred.
Registered or eligible for registration by ARDMS required within 1 year of hire. Must obtain Certified by ARDMS and RVT, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - VS (Vascular Sonography), or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) - Registered Vascular Specialist within 1 year of eligibility to sit for the exam or within 2 years of hire. ARRT certification in Radiography preferred. BLS. Mandatory Reporter.
Ability to work independently with speed and accuracy. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
