Job Description
Characterize ultrasound propagation through human tissue with experiments and signal processing.
Develop models of ultrasound propagation through human tissue and validate them experimentally.
Conduct literature reviews and technology surveys and share findings with the broader team in oral and written form.
Work with cross-functional engineering partners to design, build, and validate wearable-hardware prototypes to enable path-finding research.
Work with cross-functional research partners to understand their goals and turn them into hardware system requirements.

Skills and Requirements
PhD in Acoustics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
5+ years experience with experimental techniques to study wave propagation through human tissue including, but not limited to, ultrasound imaging, quantitative ultrasound, or laser Doppler vibrometry.
5+ years experience with acoustic signal processing including, but not limited to, 2D Fourier transform, Radon transform, Ricker wavelet decomposition, dispersion relation estimation, time reversal, beam forming, or surface-wave inversion methods
5+ years experience with finite-element acoustics modeling in Ansys, Comsol, or other similar tools.
5+ years experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar. Experience with ultrasound guided waves.
Experience with ultrasound non-destructive evaluation.
Experience with seismology signal processing techniques.
Experience with ultrasound transducers including, but not limited to, coupling methods to soft tissue, loading effects, matching networks, or driving-signal generation.
Experience with airborne sonar null
