Ultrasound Tech
The technologists are under the general supervision of the Special Imaging Supervisor/Director of Imaging Services, and the clinical direction of the Radiology Medical Director. The technologist will perform diagnostic procedures at a technical level as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. Education/Experience: Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an accredited allied medical health field including course work in anatomy and physiology. One year specialized training/experience in order to acquire a suitable knowledge of anatomy and physiology and in depth knowledge of sonography theory and expertise in scanning procedures and technique. Registered or meets eligibility requirements to sit for an examination by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Registry eligible is acceptable but passage of test must be completed within one year of graduation. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for Neonates, Infants, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients/family served. Continuing education credits must be obtained as required by RDMS.
