Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technologist. The Ultrasound Technologist administers high-frequency sound waves to demonstrate portions of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. They prepare patients for examinations by explaining the procedure, removing clothing that interferes with scanning, and appropriately positioning the patient for the proper examination.

Essential Functions:
Patient Assessment/Education:
Identifies patient with two patient identifiers. Reviews order for clinical and demographic consistency and verifies accuracy.
Interviews patient for clinical history, reviews previous procedures and documents relevant history for the Radiologist.
Explains procedure to patient.
Examination Performance:
Prepares patient for procedure, ensures prep performed if needed and checks for any artifact-producing objects.
Orders/performs correct examination.
Positions patient correctly for examination to be performed.
Performs procedures in accordance with established protocols and in a timely manner.
Recognizes sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue.
Correctly operates ultrasound equipment.
