Responsibilities
Performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director; Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging test inclusive of positioning patient, equipment management, and documentation of findings.
Performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical DirectorPrepares equipment ensuring that it is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standardsProblem-solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problemsEnsures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standardsCompletes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintainedCompletes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedureOther duties as assignedQualifications
Associate’s Degree preferredActive certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT requiredAmerican Heart CPR/BLS certification required
