The role you’ll contribute:

Performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. Obtains and documents patient clinical information as needed. Performs basic patient care within scope of practice and to departmental standards. Assists in radiology department as needed. Responsibility to adhere to the Hospital Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Ensures that equipment has met all quality control requirements and, working with minimum supervision, performs patient examination utilizing age-specific care techniques (see competencies) in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing proficiency while evaluating image quality to ensure good technical and diagnostic detail.

Documents incidents, reactions and/or unusual occurrences at time of incident.

Stocks Ultrasound rooms with required supply items as listed in rooms and monitored by supervisor.

Is active in process improvement for the Radiology Department.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Associates degree from accredited program.

One-year experience as a sonographer.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(S) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) specialty examination in Abdomen (AB), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Vascular (VS) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) plus one additional specialty examination requirement.
